Free CEU training: Alcohol and Drugs: From Arrest to Recovery Central California Recovery (CCR)/Assessment, Training, & Research (ATR) will be providing a free Continuing Education presentation on how to assist your clients that have been arrested when addiction is a factor in the person’s arrest or court proceeding. The education will be presented by three attorneys who work closely with clients who have legal consequences as a result of their abuse of alcohol and drugs. The education will include Criminal, Family, Juvenile, and Dependency court cases in addition to information and consequences to current and future professional licensing and social service and financial aid assistance due to arrests resulting in criminal convictions. West AvenueFresno CA 93705Call (559) 681-1947 or (559) 226-0809 for directions Speakers: Mary Moshrefi Ms. Mary Moshrefi has represented clients in various capacities, including in Dissolution of Marriages (separations and divorces) involving small properties up to multi-million dollar estates; child custody, visitation, and child and spousal support cases; juveniles and adults in cases involving small traffic infractions to misdemeanors and felony crimes involving multiple strikes. Ms.Moshrefiis the president of the Family Law Division of the Fresno County Bar Association, and a member of theCaliforniaand Fresno County Bar Associations. Todd Eilers ToddD.Eilerswas admitted to the California State Bar in May of 2004. He graduated from California Western School of Law, where he received an Honor’s degree in Criminal Law. Mr.Eilershas extensive experience in criminal law. Not only did he complete his first criminal jury trial while still in law school, he has continued to try cases consistently with Not-Guilty verdicts. With 40 Jury Trials under his beltMr.Eilershas developed a reputation as an attorney who isn't afraid to take "any case" to trial. Michael Aed MichaelAedhas been practicing criminal defense in theCentral Valleyalmost exclusively for the past ten years. A majority of the people he defends struggle with issues related to alcohol and/or drug addiction. Michaelhas worked closely with ATR finding solutions to the problems of those who face addiction as they relate to the criminal justice system, the work environment, and the destruction of the family unit.

Training Overview:
|
The training entitled, Understanding the ASAM PPC-2R, is designed for Substance Abuse Clinicians and Administrative Staff interested in learning the skills to apply the ASAM Placement Criteria tools to level of care placement for consumers with substance abuse issues. The training format will include lecture and practice-based exercises, with a focus on skill building and transfer of knowledge to immediate workplace application. |
Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of the training, participants will be able to: 1. Understanding the clinical and cost-effective benefits of treatment level of care placement; 2. Identify the essential skills for effective assessment; 3. Know the six dimensions utilized to assess patient placement and their importance in determining care; 4. Recognize the criteria used to differentiate the levels of care.
